Council 6695

Monsignor James J. Hickie Council was founded on May 10, 1975 through the efforts of 25 dedicated Catholic gentlemen and with the support of the Pastor of Saint Anne Church.  The Council is named for Monsignor James J. Hickie, former pastor of Saint Anne Parish, who is interred in the cemetery next to Saint Anne Church.

Council 6695 works closely with the members of Saint Anne's Parish and School communities, as well as with the citizens of Bristol, TN / VA, as well as with the residents - Catholic and non-Catholic alike - in the counties of Sullivan in TN and Washington in VA.  Brother Knights of Council 6695 manage the operations of Saint Anne's Charity Bingo at the Monsignor James J. Hickie Center at 430 Oakview Ave in Bristol, VA on Tuesday and Saturday evenings to help support Church, School, and Council activities.  Council 6695 is an active supporter of the Share Program which provides monthly food distribution to underprivileged families; and we are involved in the annual Knight’s MR Drive and Basketball Free Throw Competition.  We also sponsor and run an annual Fishing Rodeo for children ages 4 through 12; the Spelling Bee at Saint Anne School; as well as many other activities.

The Monsignor James J. Hickie Council is proud of its awards; the Past State Deputy Award, the State Deputy Award, the Bishop's Award, First Place in the Chaplains Award, and most of all, Star Council under the leadership of then Grand Knight Bill Davidson.
